Learn English Bit by Bit
Good morning, students and fellow teachers!
Nowadays, we are always talking about how to learn English well. Some people say that reading English books and watching English films are fun ways to do it. Yes, that’s right. If you are crazy about English, you will surely enjoy it.
But the problem is that not all of us are so interested in English and not all of us have so much time to read books and watch films. Then what should we do? How can we learn English well in our daily life?
Now I have three small tips just for you.
First, read English aloud for at least 30 mins a day. English is a kind of language and language needs to be spoken, not just about grammar and exams. Maybe you think you are shy because somebody might laugh at your poor English. It doesn’t matter. You can just shut your door and take out your English book to read loudly for about half an hour every day. And I’m sure it will make a difference if you can keep doing it for a year.
What’s more, you need this. This is a small notebook. It is easy for you to carry around. Whenever you meet a new word or expression in a book, on a paper or when you listen to a beautiful song, you can just write it down on this notebook and check out its meaning. Then, when you are free or boring or waiting, you can just take it out and have a look. If you can keep doing this, you will remember more new words and expressionsthan you can imagine.
Finally, ask questions. If you have any questions about English today, don’t leave them till tomorrow. Be brave and walk straight into your teacher’s office and ask him or her about what you don’t understand. Maybe you will forget the answer after a while. Maybe you will still repeat the same mistake. Never mind. Just ask, listen and think and one day, you will find your English better.
These are the small tips I share with you all. Of course, you don’t need to be No.1 in English but if you keep doing these as a habit for life, then bit by bit, English will be your best subject.
